The Spot appliance has a built-in local troubleshooting page that can be used to configure network settings and perform basic troubleshooting. There are a few different ways to access the appliance's local troubleshooting page.
Remote Access
To connect to the appliance's troubleshooting page remotely:
- Navigate to dashboard.spotai.co
- Click on the Configure at the top of the page
- Go to Locations on the left menu
- Select Edit for the location with the appliance
- Select Appliances on the top menu
- Select Troubleshoot
- Make sure the toggle is set to Remote and click Connect to Remote Appliance
Local Access
There are two main ways to connect to the appliance's troubleshooting page locally:
Connecting to the serial.local address
To connect to the appliance's troubleshooting page locally:
- Navigate to dashboard.spotai.co
- Click on the Configure at the top of the page
- Go to Locations on the left menu
- Select Edit for the location with the appliance
- Select Appliances on the top menu
- Select Troubleshoot
- Make sure the toggle is set to Local
- Make note of the appliance's password in #3 as it will be required to get in
- Navigate to the URL in #2 where it says "Navigate to https://sn4b-abc123.local/www" by clicking it
- Once the page comes up, enter the password to access the page
Connecting to the static fallback IPs
If both Remote access and the serial.local address fails, there are unique pre-configured static IPs built into each network interface. To find the IPs configured to the specific appliance:
- Go to the Dashboard appliance configuration page following the steps above, and select Local
- Wire Connection 1 and Wire Connection 2 will be listed with two IP addresses each
- Spot Business P340 Wire Connection 1 will be the motherboard ethernet port (around all the USB ports), with Wire Connection 2 being the ethernet port below as a PCIe card.
- Spot Mini PN60 Wire Connection 1 will be the motherboard ethernet port (around all the USB ports), with Wire Connection 2 being a USB to Ethernet adapter if it's being used.
- To access the appliance via these pre-configured IPs, your computer's IP will need to be temporarily changed so make note of the IPs listed in the Dashboard
- Set your computer's IP so the first three octets of the appliance's static IP are the same, and the fourth octet is one less. The Subnet Mask should be 255.255.255.0.
- Ex1: Appliance's static IP: 10.170.50.220, your computer's IP: 10.270.50.219
- Ex2: Appliance's static IP: 192.168.78.70, your computer's IP: 192.168.78.69
- The Subnet Mask will always be 255.255.255.0, or /24 in CIDR notation.
- Next, try to access the IPs pulled from Dashboard
- For Ex1 listed above: https://10.170.50.220/www
- For Ex2 listed above: https://192.168.78.70/www
