Overview
The Spot Appliance has a built-in NTP Server for providing time updates to cameras that are isolated from accessing the internet. This can be helpful for the physically isolated topology recommended here. Having the correct time on cameras is critical, allowing accurate historical searching and giving the ability to compare footage to other cameras at the same time.
Configuration
Appliance
There's no configuration that needs to be done on the Spot Appliance. It is pre-configured to sync time with 'time.cloudflare.com' over port UDP 123. In case this server doesn't work or another server is preferred, the time server we sync with is configurable. Just contact Support to have it changed.
Camera
For the cameras to pull NTP from the Spot Appliance, they will need the NTP server setting to be set to the IP address of the Appliance. Check out Configuring NTP on Spot AI cameras.
