If your cameras support audio, Spot can help you listen in to where they are placed. By default, it's turned off so let's first turn it on. Go to your Live page to get started.
First, click on the Configure button at the top of the page.

From the Configure page, click on Settings in the left panel.
Next, you'll see to option to toggle Audio Controls on or off. Click the toggle to turn it on.

Now, go back into your view page and select a camera that supports audio.
Pro Tip: It helps to remember which ones support audio if you give them a unique name like Audio Camera.
Unmute the camera to listen to audio. You can do this by clicking on the Volume button on the bottom right and adjusting the volume with the slider.

You can listen to audio on search by segment clips as well! Simply just click on the clip and unmute the camera.
Enabling audio and recommended settings on Spot Cameras
The following will show you how to get into your Spot camera configuration page and update it to the recommended settings.
- First, navigate to your Spot AI Dashboard -> Configure -> Locations and then click Edit on the location you want to go to -> then click on the specific camera
- After you've selected the camera, click on Native Camera Config then choose either:
- Local if you're onsite and connected to the same network as your PC
- Remote if you're offsite
Then press Navigate. - A login screen will appear. After you log in, navigate to the Configuration tab -> Video -> Audio and then check the box that says Audio enable. We recommend the following settings for this section: Audio input should be Mic input, Audio Encode should be G711U, and Input volume should be 100. After making these changes click Save.
- Once you enable the audio, please reboot the camera to take effect on the dashboard. If you are enabling audio for all the cameras, simply reboot the camera switch. This will reboot all cameras. If you want to reboot just a few cameras, then log into the camera > config > system > maintenance > reboot, as shown below
Congratulations, you've learned how to enable audio support on Spot! 🙌
