Spot AI Introduction
Salutations from Spot AI! This article will help guide you through setting up and managing the Spot AI Appliance, Dashboard, and more. Spot AI provides the use of a single dashboard to access video from all your locations and cameras, simplifying access while ensuring security.
Things to know
The Spot Appliance doesn't require any physical access to the box in order to set up the cameras and configure them, it just needs power and a working network connection. The Appliance pulls an IP through DHCP in order to reach out to the Internet. As long as the Appliance can get to the internet and the upstream firewall rules are configured to allow access, as listed in the article Upstream Firewall Configuration Information, your appliance will be able to communicate to the Spot Dashboard.
If DHCP is not enabled or there is no internet access available at the time the appliance is installed, it is also pre-configured with two static IP addresses per network port. Spot AI Support can provide this information.
All configurations for the Appliance and cameras can be set up in the Dashboard once the Appliance is online. A Dashboard account will be created by Spot AI and an email sent out for setup.
Things you will need
- The package from Spot containing: the appliance, power cable, and network cables.
- A computer with internet access to configure the Dashboard.
- A Spot AI dashboard account (Contact Spot AI Support if you didn't receive this by email)
