This document is most helpful for IT staff and on-site installation personnel.
Step 1: Access the Dashboard - Go to https://dashboard.spotai.co
Step 2: Click on Configure located on the top of the page and this will bring you to the User’s page.
Step 3: To create a new user, simply click on the 'New User' button and enter all the user information.
- Name and email address are required. Optionally you could add a phone number in order for the user to receive text alerts based on the site configuration.
- Then choose either a User role or an Admin role. A User role provides pre-configured access to selected dashboard features whereas an Admin has access to all dashboard features and can add additional users, groups, cameras, etc.
- With Admin-level access, the user will get total and complete access to the whole Spot platform. They'll also have the ability to assign roles themselves. Admins will automatically have Sharing and Video-on-demand access enabled as well. With User-level access, the user will only have access to the cameras and locations you assign them, and can only use Sharing and Video on demand if you enable them.
- You then have the option of adding the new user to specific groups. By default, the user is added to all groups. Groups make it easy to organize your locations and cameras. Groups also provide access control, so if you have a user that needs access to a particular camera or camera, add that user to the camera group. You can edit, remove, groups as required (More on groups can be found in this article).
- Locations: This is where you're able to select which sites you'd like to give the user access to. Keep in mind, if the user is an Admin, they'll have access to All locations by default. For User-level accounts, click on the Groups & Locations field and check the boxes for which sites you'd like to give them access to.
Step 4: Click Save
Step 5: In order for these users to access the dashboard, they will first get an email notification containing a link to create a password. Once they complete the password step, they will get access to the web interface of the dashboard page.
